The mission of Connect is to provide the support and leadership which enables organizations to achieve their objectives through innovative and cost effective shared technology solutions.

Member and Independent organization may subscribe to any combination of Connect services. For a detailed explanation of these services please select the specific department listed below:

Facilities Connect employs a dedicated staff to provide professional support for available services. Staff is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). Professional support services are administered by means of telephone support, on-line communication, and hands-on training. Training is either provided in Connect's training rooms, remotely via Zoom, or onsite at the customer's facilities.

In 1979, the Ohio State Assembly established the Ohio Education Computer Network (OECN). Through the Management Council of the OECN, Information Technology Centers (ITC's) were formed to provide quality cost-effective technology services and ensure the consistent delivery of comprehensive educational computer services to Ohio's K-12 schools.

What is an Information Technology Center?
Information Technology Centers, or ITC's, are non-profit organizations that are wholly owned by their member schools. An Information Technology Center provides school districts with computer software and support for the following applications fiscal software, student information system, EMIS software, library automation software and Internet services. Support includes answering questions on how to perform certain tasks within the application software, as well as initial and continuing training in the use of the application software. Initially, the Information Technology Center provided only administrative services; however, since technology and District needs have increased, Information Technology Center services are now reaching into the classroom to the school children of Ohio.

Where does the Information Technology Center receive its funding?
Information Technology Centers receive funding from multiple sources including local, state, federal and grant funding. Some funding is provided by the Ohio Department of Education. These funds are typically directed to a specific purpose such as connectivity, EMIS, or some other software application. Some funding comes from federal sources such as the LSTA and E-Rate programs. Fees paid by the member and non-member schools that receive services from the Information Technology Center provide for the balance of funding.

Does an Information Technology Center receive funding for INFOhio's electronic resources?
Funding for INFOhio Electronic Resources is provided as a line item in the Ohio SchoolNet budget. The Information Technology Centers do not receive these funds. INFOhio has negotiated with the providers of electronic resources on behalf of all school children in the state of Ohio. The Information Technology Centers involvement is to facilitate registration of Internet network addresses of schools in the state with the providers of electronic resources. The Information Technology Center also provides usernames and passwords for the electronic resources so that students can have access to these resources from home. Connect views this facilitation as a community service to the schools in the greater Cleveland area. We do not receive funding nor do we receive fees for this service.

  • Disaster Recovery Services including:
    • Minor recovery:
      • Restore files from previous days
      • Relocate to another site to process data
    • Total recovery including the ITC data center
